Making a bold statement in its grand stature and form, the Bartan Walla Bicycle Throne is a deeply sculptural piece. Even though it appears luxurious and opulent, it is composed of one of India’s most common objects—the bartan (cooking brass vessel)—and thereby makes a sharp commentary on class and status.
